MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines’ bet, Dia Maté, took home the Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 crown during the pageant’s coronation night in Bolivia on Monday, February 10 (Manila time).
The Filipina beauty queen bested over 20 contestants from countries with Hispanic influence. She was crowned by the 2024 titleholder, Maricielo Gamarra of Peru.
Maté had a strong start to her reign, earlier taking home the Best National Costume (Mejor Traje Típico) award.
Maté was named the Philippines representative to the Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 pageant at the Miss World Philippines 2024 coronation night in July 2024.
She also represented Cavite in Miss Universe Philippines 2024.
Maté’s Reina Hispanoamericana win comes eight years after Winwyn Marquez won the 2017 edition of the pageant. In 2023, Michelle Arceo finished as second runner-up.
Reina Hispanoamericana is an annual pageant that has been around since 1991. It features beauty queens from countries with Hispanic influence. – Rappler.com
