LAOAG CITY, Philippines – Administration bets under the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas talk to the media on Tuesday, February 11, in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, where the coalition kicks off the 90-day national campaign period.
Alyansa’s slate is composed of former interior secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati Mayor Abby Binay, Senator Pia Cayetano, former senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Senator Lito Lapid, former senator Manny Pacquiao, Senator Bong Revilla, former Senate president Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Senator Francis Tolentino, ACT-CIS Representative Erwin Tulfo, and House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.
Senator Imee Marcos, who is running for reelection independently, is expected to appear in the event alongside the senatorial bets of her brother Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The admininstration-backed slate starts the campaign period in the Marcos stronghold, while candidates from a number of opposition groups kicked off their campaigns in various parts of Metro Manila.
